So much support… for your wellbeing with uLife
You probably have an idea that exercise is good for your physical health and you’ve most probably also heard that “30 minutes a day will keep the doctor away.” However, if you’re like most people, that’s sometimes not enough motivation for you to get your sweat on, day-in, day-out!
Did you know that exercise is incredibly good for your mental health too?
Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on your mental health. Not only does it release chemicals (the good kind) such as endorphins and serotonin that both help to improve your mood. Exercise also helps to relives stress, improve memory, giving you focus, so you can pay attention to tasks, improve your thinking skills and you will sleep better (who doesn’t love a good night’s sleep!). Plus, exercise helps distract you from worry so by simply starting up a routine will also help with any anxiety.
To reap the benefits of exercise, it’s generally recommended that you do 30 minutes of exercise, at least five times a week. On paper this may seem like a lot. If you don’t currently have an exercise routine in your weekly schedule, you’re probably thinking how am I going to incorporate this into my already busy schedule? It’s important to remember that while more exercise is better than less – any exercise is better than no exercise at all.
If your still not sold on the benefits of the exercise effect amongst the chaos of COVID-19, the incredible team over at Positive Mind Works knows that exercise will help you manage your stress more effectively during this temporary environment. Their expert advice is… to get active!
Getting active, doesn’t need to be a high-intensity two-hour workout, a simple walk or a 30-minute Boxercise session on YouTube will get those endorphins pumping. For this week’s uLife Thursday Fitness, Britt will be bringing you just that! Tune into the Urbanest YouTube Channel to get your sweat on with Britt. And the good news? All this can be done from the comfort of your room at Urbanest.
Don’t worry if Boxercise isn’t your thing, as we will be brining you a variety of bedroom exercise sessions, plus so much more to enjoy all tailored for our Urbanesters throughout the virtual uLife programme over the coming weeks.
