With so much time at home…it’s the perfect time to be entertained

There is no better time than Easter to catch up on the flix you wanted to watch but haven’t had the time to. Now, is the perfect time to branch out of your comfort zone to watch series you never thought of watching before. So, here’s our top 12 Netflix recommendations (your welcome!)  

Sit back, relax, devour chocolate eggs and be entertained!  

From the new and the golden oldies from deep within the archives, here are our Netflix top twelve recommendations to watch this Easter.

1. Chef’s Table  

If you are looking for some inspiration in the kitchen – then look no further. Chef’s Table is an Emmy-nominated series that takes you behind the scenes and into the kitchens of critically acclaimed chefs from Australia to Moscow. Warning – once you start, it’s hard to stop watching.  

2. Hop

Hop may be from 2011, but this animated comedy has all time appeal and will have you rolling with laughter on the floor with Russell Brand as the voice of E.B, son to the O.G Easter Bunny who finds himself in a predicament – can he save Easter? 

3. An Interview with God

If you’re looking for something with all the feels over Easter, add An Interview With God to your watch list. This compelling Indi drama follows jaded war reporter Paul Asher as he sits down for an interview with a man who claims to be God. 

4. Beyonce Homecoming  

With Queen B in all her glory, there is no better time to watch the rehearsals and live footage of Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella performance, which is an incredible concert documentary. So, turn up the volume, enjoy the concert from your living room!  

5. Taylor Swift – Reputation Stadium Tour

Keen to burn some extra calories after enjoying all the goodness of Easter eggs, hot cross buns? Then this is the concert for you! Even if you’re not a Swiftie (aka die hard Taylor Swift fan), the Reputation Stadium Tour is definitely worth a watch!

6. Moneyball

Based on a true story, Moneyball tells the story of the 2002 season of the Oakland Athletics, a baseball team that rose to notoriety because of its calculated player selection criteria. Starring Brad Pitt and Jona Hill (before he became known) this is one to watch even if you’re not into “sports”. 

7. The Blindside

One of the greatest sporting films from the last decade. The Blind Side is an inspirational true story that will have you hooked. A compelling account of tragedy-turned-triumph, starring the one and only Sandra Bullock. Have the tissues handy.  

8. The Dawn Wall

Heart and gut-wrenching free climbing documentary will have you on the edge of your seat. As you watch the thrill-seeking climbers, Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson, scale the world’s most unforgiving rock face.

9. Chasing Coral

If you have ever wanted to know why the coral reefs around the world are declining – then add Chasing Coral to the top of your watch list. This awe-inspiring documentary follows a team of divers, scientists and photographers around the world as they investigate the disappearance of coral reefs. 

10. Free Willy

How could a movie watch list be complete without a 90’s movie! Free Willy was a surprising box office hit that continues to be watched by millions across the globe. The touching story of a boy and his killer whale who form a unique bond. This is a movie that will win the heart of animal lovers.  

11. Stranger Things

To help combat cabin fever get swept up in Stranger Things. The story starts when a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, and one strange little girl. With 3 seasons, there are so many eps to enjoy and you’ll love the retro feel. 

12. The Shawshank Redemption 

And last but not least we could not go past The Shawshank Redemption. Critically acclaimed, nominated for seven Oscars, and notoriously quoted as nearly everyone’s favourite movie. A tale of banker Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) framed for murder join him on his journey as he begins a new life at the Shawshank prison and forms close bonds with older inmate Red (Morgan Freeman). This is a story of persistence in the face of overwhelming odds and despite the setting quite uplifting!
